Jim Thompson incorporated ILoca Services, Inc. in 1989. He started out making phone calls from his house, taking orders for trailers and putting together deals. Soon, Jim was joined by his brother, Dan, and together they worked the phones, found deals anywhere they could, and even prepped trailers for rent. Some days, when a trailer would come back from a customer, Jim and Dan would prep it over night and send it out with a new customer the next morning. Being able to move fast and turn things around for customers has always been key to ILoca’s success. Sadly, Jim passed away unexpectedly in 2017. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
ILoca is still owned and operated by Dan Thompson. It is headquartered in Aurora, IL on 50 plus acres and has branch locations in Davenport, IA and Caledonia, WI. ILoca’s rental fleet includes thousands of trailers. Ranging from dry vans, reefers, flatbeds and drop decks to hard to find heavy haul. Extendables, lowboys and double drops. ILoca is a stocking trailer dealer for Vanguard, CIMC Refrigerated, CIMC Intermodal, Fontaine, Fontaine Heavy Haul, Manac, Talbert, Dorsey and Travis. The headquarters location boasts a parts superstore and ILoca offers parts delivery locally, often the same day. Just about any trailer part or accessory you can think of can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. ILoca’s modern, high tech, onsite repair facility can handle everything from annual inspections to welding and custom fabrication, plus, ILoca offers emergency road side assistance.
