Potato Rolls! Yum! 🌭🍔

Almost missed this one. MFPS Transport is the in house carrier for Martins. Got a little history of them both below.

Kinda unusual to see a single axle like this but I guess them rolls are light.

Our story starts in the 1950s, in the heart of “Pennsylvania Dutch” country in the kitchen of Lois and Lloyd Martin. It was there that they perfected their potato roll. In 1955, they converted their garage into a small bakery and throughout the next twenty years, distribution grew from local farmers’ markets to corner grocery stores and on to supermarkets. The sweet, buttery taste, soft texture, and distinctive golden color made the Martin’s Potato Roll an instant favorite. The business eventually expanded into two commercial baking plants over the ensuing decades, and continues to dominate in the markets where it has established full distribution.

MFPS TRANSPORT HISTORY

One day in 1955, Lloyd Martin removed the rear seat of his 1954 Dodge Coronet so he could transport Martin’s baked goods to farmer’s markets in south central Pennsylvania. Since then, Martin’s has had a mission to provide the best transportation services in a safe, timely, and efficient manner, while striving to ensure customer satisfaction.

In 2016, MFPS Transport, Inc. was established as a formal and separate transportation company fully owned by Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc. The transportation company is headquartered in Chambersburg, PA and manages more than 70 over-the-road trucks, 100 trailers, and 120 employees. The fleet of trucks covers almost 6 million miles a year, delivering to more than 90 warehouses within the Martin’s fresh distribution area. Customer service is a high priority for MFPS Transport. Customers have recognized that even during daunting obstacles such as hurricanes and blizzards, MFPS Transport has been able to exceed expectations with deliveries. The MFPS Transport team is dedicated to delivering the fresh roll and bread products that will continue Martin’s legacy of providing cherished eating experiences for years to come.
