Ridge Corporation has announced a new advancement in trailer protection, which is now being tested by select fleets. Enter "Trailer Helmet". Wonder if you can use it on box trucks?

If it's such an issue with damage in that area, you'd think the trailer manufacturers would reinforce it themselves. But, less weight on the equipment is better for the trucking company. Which goes for the Helmet or reinforcement. Less is more.
I think some reinforcement of that area could be useful, but I'm not sure a separate product is the way to go. The trailer manufacturers can just cut out the middle man and do it themselves in the initial trailer construction. Use some fancy carbon fiber or something, maybe as an option.
