Kenworth is now offering an electric option for their existing medium duty cabover models, the new K270E and K370E.
*Not my photo.
Personally, manufacturers like KW, Pete, FL, etc taking an existing chassis and adding an electric option makes far more sense than trying to introduce an entirely new company and chassis/truck to the market (looking at you, Tesla).
I can easily see an electric T680 or T880, or heck, even an electric W990.
I mean, why not give that option? The dealer network is there, and the chassis is already popular enough that parts (mechanical and body/interior) are readily available for everything but the actual electrical/battery system, which can easily be distributed through existing networks.
And the trucks themselves look better.
Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.😁
I just wonder how long the batteries will last in these larger trucks
Does the electric one come with smoke machine option so you can roll fake coal 🤨
